Vegetation density classification from UAV imagery is a practical necessity in fire-prone landscapes, since fuel load on the ground directly informs risk management decisions. Convolutional neural networks handle this classification reasonably well, but good performance requires careful hyperparameter tuning, and manual trial and error produces results that are unstable and hard to reproduce. This study proposes LDW-FOX, a modified FOX metaheuristic using a Linearly Decreasing Weight mechanism t...

The role of parental parenting styles in preventing children from becoming victims of bullying
Bullying is a serious problem in educational settings that can have long-term impacts on children's psychological development. Although many studies have examined risk factors for bullying, research specifically exploring the role of parenting styles from a qualitative perspective in Indonesia remains limited. This study aims to understand the meanings, experiences, and strategies of parents in preventing children from becoming victims of bullying. This qualitative study with a phenomenological...

The effect of role playing on social interaction
This research was motivated by the results of observations that found a number of students were still unable to interact optimally. Some students tend to be solitary, show awkwardness when dealing with new friends, lack courage in communicating, and have difficulty working together with peers outside their circle of friends and are reluctant to get involved in group activities. This study aims to determine the influence of role playing on social interaction. Researchers use group guidance servic...

Patterns of Fracture - Causing Traffic Injuries and Accuracy of ICD-10 External Cause Coding: A Case Study at a Type B Hospital in Semarang
VISIKES
Vol 25
, No 1
(2026)
Traffic accidents, particularly motorcycle crashes, constitute a leading cause of musculoskeletal fractures in urban Indonesia, yet inaccurate ICD-10 external cause coding undermines epidemiological surveillance and injury prevention efforts. This study aimed to analyze patterns of accident causes leading to fractures and evaluate the accuracy of external cause coding in medical records at a Type B hospital in Semarang. A quantitative descriptive study was conducted using retrospective observati...

The implementation of regional autonomy and fiscal decentralization aims to enhance local governments' financial independence. However, fiscal imbalances between the central and regional governments led to the enactment of Law Number 1 of 2022 (UU HKPD), designed to strengthen regional fiscal capacity. This law introduces a piggyback tax system through a surcharge on the Motor Vehicle Tax. This study analyzes the dynamics of the piggyback tax system in Semarang City, focusing on the implications...

Post-consumer textile waste poses significant environmental problems, but its potential for commercial recycling remains under-researched. Therefore, this study utilizes calico textile (CT) waste as reinforcement in polymer composites. The effect of layering number of CT in epoxy composite will be investigated. CT was varied with three layers, namely 1, 3, and 5 embedded in epoxy resin with the hand lay-up method in open molding. The mechanical testing of pure epoxy as a control point for tensil...
