Abstract
Introduction: The transition of disease patterns, which were initially dominated by infectious diseases, has now changed to Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD). One of the non-communicable diseases that is currently a global health priority is hypertension. Based on the list of the 10 Biggest Diseases at the Kedungmundu Health Center in 2020, hypertension ranks first with 8284 patients (23.26%). The high incidence of hypertension can pose a continuing risk to residents in the region. Objective: to increase public knowledge about hypertension, its causes, risk factors, and various efforts to treat and prevent it. Methods: counseling, KIE Hypertension with Hypertension Gymnastics Video Media, brochure media, and leaflet media. Results: The average knowledge about hypertension before counseling was 87.78, after counseling was 97.78, and the Wilcoxon test results obtained a p-value of 0.038. The materials in the form of videos, brochures, and leaflets were well received by the public. Conclusion: Counseling can increase people's knowledge scores about hypertension.
