PENGARUH TERAPI PURSED LIPS BREATHING TERHADAP PERUBAHAN RESPIRATORY RATE (RR) PADA ANAK DENGAN PNEUMONIA DI WILAYAH PUSKESMAS KENANGA

Pneumonia is inflammation of the lungs caused by infection. Pneumonia can cause mild to severe symptoms. Some of the symptoms that commonly occur in pneumonia sufferers are cough with phlegm, fever and shortness of breath. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of pursed lips breathing on changes in respiratory rate (RR) in children with pneumonia in the Kenanga Community Health Center area in 2025. This research uses a quasi-experiment design with a pretest and posttest design with control group design. The sample size in this study was 16 people, namely 8 intervention groups and 8 control groups. The results of the study showed that the difference in the average value of respiratory rate in the intervention group was 0.000< 0.05, which means there was a significant difference in changes in respiratory rate before and after pursed lips breathing therapy in the intervention group. The difference in the average value of changes in respiratory rate in the control group is0.000 <0.05, which means there is a significant difference in changes in respiratory rate before and after in the control group. The conclusion is that there is a significant influence between the provision of Pursed Lips Breathing therapy on changes in Respiratory Rate (RR) in children with pneumonia in the Kenanga Community Health Center area in 2025.
