Ketuban pecah dini (KPD) diartikan sebagai robeknya selaput khorioamnion dalam kehamilan atau fase laten persalinan dan merupakan penyebab terbesar persalinan prematur dengan berbagai akibatnya. Kejadian KPD terjadi pada sekitar 6,46-15,6% kehamilan aterm dan PPROM terjadi pada sekitar 2-3% dari semua kehamilan tunggal dan 7,4% dari kehamilan kembar. Data persalinan di Banjarnegara pada tahun 2021 sekitar 14.283, sedangkan angka persalinan di Puskesmas Purwanegara 1 cukup tinggi pada tahun 2021 yaitu 458. Data pra survey menunjukan bahwa dari total 23 ibu bersalin, 15 diantaranya mengeluhkan nyeri persalinan.
