Hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis dengan prevalensi tinggi pada kelompok lanjut usia dan menjadi faktor risiko utama berbagai komplikasi seperti stroke, penyakit jantung koroner, dan gagal ginjal. Data Puskesmas Cilacap Utara II pada Januari–Februari 2025 menunjukkan bahwa hipertensi menempati urutan atas dalam kunjungan rawat jalan dengan 167 kasus (16%).
