PERAN POLRI DALAM PENYIDIKAN TINDAK PIDANA KORUPSI: (Studi Kasus Di Polresta Surakarta)

The purpose of this research is to analyze the process of investigatingcorruption crimes in Surakarta Police. Analyzing the obstacles experienced byinvestigators in conducting investigations of corruption crimes in SurakartaPolice.The method of approach in this writing is sociological juridical. Thespecifications of this study use descriptive analysis. Data sources use primary dataand skunder data. Data collection techniques use interview studies and documentstudies. To analyze the data, researchers use qualitative descriptive analysismethods.The role of the Police in investigating corruption crimes in SurakartaPolice is guided by the Kuhap also guided by a special law, namely the Law of theRepublic of Indonesia No. 31 of 1999 on Eradication of Criminal Acts ofCorruption as amended by the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of2001 on changes to Law No. 31 of 1999 on Eradication of Criminal Acts ofCorruption. Investigation of corruption crimes has been carried out severalactions, including in the form of summons, detention, confiscation, collection ofwitness statements, which ended with the enactment of the news of theinvestigation event. Based on the resume of case exposure in this study, it can beseen that the investigation process conducted by the Surakarta Police has beenrunning in accordance with the procedures specified in the KUHAP. The processof investigating the suspect included: information given to investigators withoutpressure from anyone and in any form. Investigators note with the carefulaccuracy of the suspect's information, if the suspect to be examined residesoutside the investigator's legal area who will conduct the examination, theinvestigator concerned can charge the examination to the investigator who isauthorized in the area where the suspect lives. Or if the suspect is unable to attendbefore the investigator, then the investigation can be carried out in the suspect'splace by way of the investigator who came to the suspect. The obstaclesexperienced by investigators in investigating corruption in Surakarta Police aredivided into two (two), namely technically and non-technically. Technically, theobstacles are fugitive suspects / entering the search list of people, witnesses notdomiciled, the calculation of auditors from the old BPK/BPKP, and witnesses aresubordinates of the suspect, so that the witness does not give his testimonythoroughly or clearly. Non-technical obstacles are missing documents. Before thesuspect is examined or searched, usually the suspect will release documents thathave been long, so that this document can not be disclosed again.Keywords: The Role of the Police, Investigation, Criminal Acts of Corruption.
