Abstract
Background: Routine health checkups are crucial for the early detection and prevention of disease complications. However, their implementation in Indonesia is low, with only 20% of the population undergoing checkups annually. This low participation rate is influenced by a lack of understanding, limited access to healthcare facilities, high costs, and social stigma. Objective: Identify and analyze the effectiveness of health education in raising public awareness of the importance of free health checkups. Method: Health education activities using interactive methods and direct health screenings. Result: Participants demonstrated an improved understanding, as evidenced by a significant increase in knowledge from 53.59% to 72.3% after the intervention. Nearly 70% of pregnant women and 36% of participants with abnormal blood pressure had dental health issues, emphasizing the need for ongoing monitoring and education. Conclusion: Health education and free screenings can enhance public awareness and preparedness in preventing and detecting diseases, making this program highly beneficial for promoting health.
