Komunikasi Antar Personal (KAP) dalam Edukasi dan Pencegahan Hipertensi di Gampong Cot Mesjid, Kecamatan Lueng Bata, Kota Banda Aceh:

Latar belakang: Hipertensi atau tekanan darah tinggi merupakan salah satu penyakit kronis yang paling umum di dunia dan menjadi faktor risiko utama penyakit kardiovaskular serta penyebab utama kematian. Rendahnya tingkat pemahaman masyarakat mengenai faktor risiko, gejala, serta pencegahan hipertensi berdampak pada komplikasi. Komunikasi Antar Personal (KAP) merupakan strategi edukasi kesehatan berbasis interaksi langsung yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat melalui komunikasi dua arah yang lebih efektif dan partisipatif. Tujuan: untuk menganalisis efektivitas KAP dalam meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat di Gampong Cot Mesjid, Kecamatan Lueng Bata, Kota Banda Aceh terkait hipertensi. Metode: menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan desain uji paired t-test (pre-test dan post-test). Responden terdiri dari 11 orang masyarakat di Gampong Cot Mesjid, yang diberikan edukasi menggunakan metode KAP melalui sesi interaktif, diskusi kelompok, permainan edukatif, dan nyanyian. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang mengukur tingkat pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil: adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pengetahuan responden terkait hipertensi setelah diberikan edukasi melalui metode KAP. Rata-rata skor pre-test sebelum intervensi adalah 55,91 meningkat menjadi 77,00 (p = 0,000), yang artinya bahwa penyuluhan dengan menggunakan metode KAP efektif dilakukan dan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pre-test dan post-test. Kesimpulan: Komunikasi Antar Personal (KAP) terbukti efektif sebagai strategi edukasi dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat terkait hipertensi. Dengan komunikasi dua arah yang interaktif, peserta lebih mudah memahami dan mengingat informasi yang diberikan. Pendekatan ini dapat diterapkan lebih luas dalam program edukasi kesehatan lainnya untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap berbagai penyakit kronis.

Abstract
Background: Hypertension or high blood pressure is one of the most common chronic diseases in the world and is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease and a leading cause of death. The low level of public understanding of risk factors, symptoms, and prevention of hypertension has an impact on complications. Interpersonal Communication (KAP) is a health education strategy based on direct interaction that aims to increase public awareness and understanding through more effective and participatory two-way communication. Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of KAP in increasing public knowledge regarding hypertension in Gampong Cot Mesjid, Lueng Bata District, Banda Aceh City. Method: using a descriptive approach with a paired t-test design (pre-test and post-test). Respondents consisted of 11 people in Gampong Cot Mesjid, who were given education using the KAP method through interactive sessions, group discussions, educational games, and songs. Data were collected through a questionnaire that measured the level of knowledge before and after the intervention. Result: there was a significant increase in respondents' knowledge regarding hypertension after being given education through the KAP method. The average pre-test score before the intervention was 55.91% increasing to 77.00% (p = 0.000), which means that counseling using the KAP method is effective and there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results. Conclusion: Interpersonal Communication (KAP) has proven to be effective as an educational strategy in increasing public awareness and understanding of hypertension. With interactive two-way communication, participants find it easier to understand and remember the information provided. This approach can be applied more widely in other health education programs to increase public awareness of various chronic diseases.
