π Abstract
Although breast milk has many benefits, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is still not optimal, with various factors influencing mothers' decisions to breastfeed. This study aims to analyze the relationship between maternal demographic factors (education, marital status, number of children, occupation, and living with an extended family) with breastfeeding attitudes. The method used is quantitative with a cross-sectional design. The number of respondents was 122 mothers with children aged 0-2 years, selected using cluster random sampling. The variables studied included marital status, number of children, education level, occupation, and whether the mother lives with an extended family. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Spearman test. Only maternal education level had a significant relationship with breastfeeding attitudes (p <0.05), while other factors such as marital status, number of children, occupation, and living with an extended family did not show a significant relationship. Mothers with higher education tend to have more positive attitudes towards breastfeeding and understand more. The maternal education factor plays an important role in forming positive breastfeeding attitudes. Therefore, education about the benefits and techniques of breastfeeding needs to be continuously improved to increase the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding.
