HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU TENTANG NUTRISI DENGAN KEJADIAN STUNTING PADA BALITA DI PUSKESMAS PEKAUMAN BANJARMASIN

Background: Stunting is a growth failure when a child's height or length is shorter than the normal height of children of the same age. One of the factors in the occurrence of stunting in toddlers is the level of knowledge and attitude of the family about nutritional intake for infants and the level of education of parents which can affect mindset. Maternal knowledge can affect the incidence of stunting because with good knowledge owned by parents can help mothers to improve the nutritional status of children to achieve good growth. Purpose: Analyzing the relationship between maternal knowledge about nutrition and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. Method: Quantitative method of analytic survey type with cross sectional approach. The sample was 30 respondents with sampling technique using accidental sampling. The research was conducted in August 2024 in the Banjarmasin Pekauman Health Center Working Area. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the chi square test. Result: The results showed that most of the toddlers at the Banjarmasin Pekauman Health Center were stunted as many as 23 toddlers (76.7%) and most mothers had sufficient knowledge about nutrition, namely 16 people (53.3%). There is a relationship between maternal knowledge about nutrition and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the Banjarmasin Pekauman Health Center Working Area (p = 0.003). Conclusion: There is a relationship between maternal knowledge about nutrition and the incidence of stunting in toddlers in the Banjarmasin Pekauman Health Center working area.
