Tanah longsor menjadi bencana alam yang marak terjadi di Indonesia. Selama sepuluh tahun terakhir terdapat 2975 kejadian tanah longsor yang terjadi di Jawa Tengah, di mana 101 kejadian tanah longsor berada di Kabupaten Karanganyar.
