PARENTS AS ROLE MODELS IN ENHANCING LITERACY AMONG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN IN THE DIGITAL ERA

📄 Abstract
Nowadays, the flow of digitalization is increasingly rapid, children's interaction with digital media is increasingly intense, so parents have an important role in maintaining and supervising children's literacy, especially elementary school age children. Digital media such as tablets and gadgets can bring positive and negative things to the cognitive development of children at elementary school age. Therefore, parents must be able to become role models or role models for children in efforts to increase literacy in children. This article will discuss the role of parents as examples for children in balancing the use of digital media for children so that elementary school age children's interest in reading increases. By using qualitative library research methods, this research concluded that the role of parents as role models in daily activities at home can have an impact on increasing the literacy of elementary school aged children.
