PENINGKATAN DERAJAT KESEHATAN PADA LANSIA MELALUI PENYULUHAN DAN PENDAMPINGAN AKAN PENTINGNYA PEMERIKSAAN KESEHATAN BERKALA DI KOTA SEMARANG

đź“„ Abstract
The global geriatric population has increased, and this trend is also evident in Semarang, Indonesia. Without proper health management, this condition could contribute to the rise of degenerative diseases. One key aspect of degenerative disease management is increasing preventive measures through regular health monitoring and enhancing knowledge about degenerative diseases. The method used in this community service comprises several stages: health examination, pre-test, health education, and activity evaluation (post-test by questionnaire). The target audience for this community service includes the following groups: The Group of volunteers “posyandu lansia” in Semarang City, BKL (Bina Keluarga Lansia) Semarang City, PKK (Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga) members of Semarang City, PKK District Task Force 1, and PPL-KS of Semarang. Statistical analysis showed that the mean number of correct answers in the post-test (125.33±8.359) surpassed that of the pre-test (118.67±16.391). However, there is an increase in knowledge about degenerative diseases, although it is not statistically significant. There is a need for a more specific target population because, based on the samples we obtained, the pretest results already indicate a high average score. This may have contributed to the nonsignificant results we obtained. The need for research and community service on a broader scale is crucial, with the hope that it can enhance awareness and knowledge about degenerative diseases in the elderly.
