Rendahnya minat membaca pada buku pelajaran dialami oleh siswa SMP sehingga dapat mengakibatkan rendahnya prestasi belajar siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui penyebaran DCM pada siswa SMP N 6 Sukoharjo, didapatkan bahwa dari jumlah siswa sebanyak 32 siswa, terdapat 20 siswa yang jarang membaca buku pelajaran.
