Analisis Deteksi CRP pada Pasien Diabetes Tipe 2 yang Terkontrol dan Tidak Terkontrol di RSUD Dr. M. Ashari Kabupaten Pemalang

📄 Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition characterized by inadequate insulin production or ineffective use of insulin by the body. Insulin plays a crucial role in regulating blood glucose levels, and persistent high glucose levels stimulate the release of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6, IL-1, and TNF-????. These cytokines, in turn, increase the levels of C-Reactive Protein (CRP), which serves as a marker of inflammation in the body. The aim of this study is to examine CRP levels in patients with controlled and uncontrolled type 2 DM at RSUD Dr. M. Ashari Pemalang Regency. This descriptive research employed the latex agglutination method for CRP detection. The study sample consisted of patients diagnosed with type 2 DM, both controlled and uncontrolled, at RSUD Dr. M. Ashari, selected using the accidental sampling technique. A total of 40 samples were included in the study, of which 22 samples (55%) tested negative for CRP and 18 samples (45%) tested positive. Among the positive results, CRP levels varied as follows: 6 mg/dl in 2 samples, 12 mg/dl in 4 samples, 24 mg/dl in 7 samples, 48 mg/dl in 1 sample, 96 mg/dl in 3 samples, and 384 mg/dl in 1 sample. The findings indicate that blood glucose levels, both in controlled and uncontrolled type 2 DM patients, have a significant impact on increasing CRP levels. The higher the blood sugar levels, the greater the inflammatory response, reflected in the elevated CRP levels. This suggests that CRP can be a useful biomarker for assessing the degree of inflammation and monitoring the control of type 2 DM in clinical settings.
