AbstractHypertension is a condition where a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal levels, namely exceeding 140/90 mmHg. The global prevalence of hypertension in 2019 was 34.1%, an increase from 25.8% in adults (30-79 years). The effects of hypertension are palpitations, fatigue, anxiety, muscle tremors, headaches, blurred or double vision epistaxis, difficulty sleeping, and acute pain. One of the causes of acute pain is increased blood pressure. One non-pharmacological action that can be taken is pain management which focuses on foot soak therapy with warm ginger water. Red ginger contains various components such as fat, protein, starch, oleoresin (gingerol), and essential oils, which are useful for lowering blood pressure and providing a relaxing effect so that it can reduce pain. The aim of the research is to provide an overview of the effectiveness of foot soak therapy with warm ginger water to reduce acute pain in elderly people with hypertension.This research method uses a case study. The research results of the two respondents, after being given foot soak therapy with warm ginger water for 7 days, experienced a decrease in blood pressure and a decrease in pain levels. Respondent 1 from blood pressure 146/98 mmHg with a pain scale of 5 to 125/85 mmHg with a pain scale of 2 while respondent 2 from blood pressure and 158/110 mmHg with a pain scale of 6 to 112/85 mmHg with a pain scale.In conclusion, providing foot soak therapy with warm ginger water is effective in reducing acute pain in elderly people with hypertension.
