📄 Abstract

Background: In industries with a high risk of occupational accidents, it is crucial to identify the factors contributing to such incidents, including minor injuries. Plywood factories are particularly prone to accidents due to various hazards such as dust exposure, high temperatures, the use of sharp tools, and the physically demanding nature of many tasks. Moreover, workers often experience fatigue from prolonged standing, working in hot environments, and meeting high production demands. If these issues are not addressed, they may lead to more severe accidents, including serious injuries. This study aims to examine the relationship between work fatigue, adherence to procedures, job type, and the incidence of minor injuries. Methods: This research is a quantitative study employing an observational analytical approach with a cross-sectional design.A total of 450 plywood production workers were eligible, with 84 workers selected as the sample through proportionate stratified random sampling. The study utilized a standardized IFRC questionnaire and an observation sheet as research instruments with data analyzed through bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. Results: The findings revealed that minor injuries among workers were significantly associated with work fatigue (p=0.008), adherence to procedures (p=0.002), and the nature of work (p=0.004). Conclusion: The study identified three factors significantly related to minor injuries: work fatigue, adherence to procedures, and type of the work. Socialization is needed to workers on the importance of using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and following safe work practices, targeting both new and experienced employees
