📄 Abstract

Divorce is a social phenomenon that continues to increase across all levels of society and has multidimensional consequences for all family members. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the factors that contribute to divorce, the dynamics of the divorce process, and the psychological, social, and economic impacts it causes, with a primary focus on the well-being of children and parents after divorce. The method used is a literature study involving a review of national and international journals, scientific books, and research reports related to family issues and developmental psychology. The results of the study show that the causes of divorce generally stem from a lack of communication, economic instability, infidelity, and domestic violence. Divorce not only marks the end of a marriage, but also triggers changes in family structure that have a significant impact on children's mental health and adaptation process. Children often experience anxiety, stress, decline in academic performance, and behavioral disorders, especially when conflicts between parents are intense and prolonged. For parents, divorce implies an increase in emotional burden and changes in roles and responsibilities, especially for single parents.
