Efektivitas Penegakan Hukum Terhadap Pelanggaran Kampanye Digital Oleh Partai Politik Dalam Pemilu 2024 di Kabupaten Asahan

The advancement of digital technology has transformed political campaign patterns in the 2024 Election, including in Asahan Regency. Digital campaigns through social media provide opportunities to enhance public participation, yet they also present risks of legal violations if not properly supervised. This study applies an empirical legal research method with a focus on the role of the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) of Asahan Regency in enforcing digital campaign regulations as stipulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 and Bawaslu Regulations. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews with election supervisors, and examination of official Bawaslu documents. The findings reveal that law enforcement against digital campaign violations by political parties in Asahan Regency has been effective, with no cases of black campaigns, discriminatory content, or misuse of official party accounts identified. The supervisory mechanism was consistently carried out through monitoring of registered accounts, content clarification, and sanction implementation when necessary. Moreover, Bawaslu of Asahan successfully applied an internal control system by strengthening staff technical capacity and conducting digital campaign socialization for both political parties and the public. These results indicate that the effectiveness of law enforcement has provided legal certainty and helped safeguard the quality of democracy at the regional level.
