Implementasi Pengawasan Pemerintah Dalam Perlindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia Terkait Undang-Undang Nomor 18 Tahun 2017 (Studi: Dinas Ketenagakerjaan Kabupaten Asahan)

Migrant workers are an important component in national and regional development, because of their role in the economic system that can influence growth and development. The purpose of this study is to determine the Implementation of Government Supervision in protecting Indonesian Migrant Workers working abroad in accordance with Law No. 18 of 2017. This study was conducted by seeking the truth in the field and direct confirmation to the Asahan Regency Manpower Office. Furthermore, to find out the obstacles faced by the Asahan Regency Government in supervising the employment relations of migrants working abroad. The results of this study indicate that the main obstacles in the supervision and protection of Indonesian migrant workers in Asahan Regency are the lack of information and education for prospective migrant workers, complicated bureaucratic processes, limited resources, and difficulties in conducting evaluation and monitoring.
