ABSTRACT
The application of fuel injection technology in motorcycle engines has been widely applied by automotive companies to improve vehicle efficiency. Fuel injection technology (Full injection System) is a technology used to mix fuel with air before entering the combustion chamber and then spray it with a certain pressure. This system uses several sensors to measure the amount of fuel and set the correct spraying time. So as to increase engine power when compared with the carburetor mechanism. An important component in a fuel injection system is the injector. The injector sprays and makes the fuel mixed homogeneously so as to increase fuel efficiency, reduce pollution and provide more power. Robust motorcycle performance can be seen from how big of the power and torque efficiency of the vehicle. One way to improve motorcycle performance is to improve the fuel injection process in the combustion process so that good combustion occurs. This study aims to determine the effect of the number of holes on the injector nozzle on the value of power and torque on a motorcycle based on engine rotation speed. The object of research is a 4-step motorcycle with a fuel injection system, fuel using the Ron 90 pertalite. Variation of the study is the difference of the holes number in the injector nozzle including 6-hole nozzles (factory default), 4 holes and 8 holes. Testing is done using dynotest. The data obtained in the form of a graph that contains the value of power and torque of each injector nozzle at each engine speed. As a result, the use of an 8 holes injector nozzle produces a maximum power of 5.00 hp at 5,500 rpmand a maximum torque of 4, 84 ft-lbs at 5,000 rpm. For 6-holes injector produces a maximum power of 7.42 hp at 6500 rpm and maximum torque of 5.89 ft-lbs at 6,500 rpm. The 4-holes injector produces a maximum power of 6,3 hp at 6500 rpm and maximum torque of 5.8 ft-lbs at 6,000 rpm.
