Diabetes Mellitus (DM) merupakan penyakit gangguan metabolik menahun yang diakibatkan oleh pankreas yang tidak memproduksi secara cukup insulin atau insulin yang diproduksi secara efektif tidak dapat digunakan oleh tubuh. Pada tahun 2012 Prevalensi diabetes melitus tergantung insulin di Provinsi Jawa Tengah sebesar 0,06 lebih rendah dibanding tahun 2011 (0,09%).
