Di Indonesia, hipertensi merupakan nomor tiga sebagai penyakit yang mematikan yaitu 31,7% dari populasi usia 18 tahun ke atas. Hipertensi merupakan kenaikan tekanan darah lebih dari normal atau lebih dari 120/80 mmHg.
