Synergistic cultures for resilient mercury bioremediation in ASGM leveraging microbial interactions for sustainable pollutant removal
The widespread use of mercury (Hg) in artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM) necessitates effective bioremediation strategies. This study evaluated the mercury reduction capabilities of two bacterial strains, Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, using real-world ASGM liquid waste. In a seven-day laboratory-scale experiment, we assessed the performance of single and mixed bacterial cultures under varying pH conditions. Our results show that B. subtilis was particularly effective, a...

Isolation and screening of halotolerant protease-producing bacteria from Lampung fermented shrimp paste
Protease are class of degradative enzymes that hydrolyze proteins, breaking its peptide bond, into smaller peptides and amino acids. Microbial proteases have gained increasing attention due to its productivity and utilization in various industries. Proteolytic bacteria derived from fermented shrimp paste from Lampung have great potential to meet this need. However, studies on these bacteria are still limited, so further research is needed to explore and optimally utilize their potential. This st...

Integrating field inventory and in silico phylogenetic analysis of pteridophytes at Gandul Mount, Indonesia
Pteridophytes are vascular plants that are considered the most primitive plants because they only use spores to reproduce. Several major fern families exhibit distinctive morphological and ecological characteristics that support their taxonomic recognition. Pteridophytes represent an important component of tropical biodiversity, yet their diversity and evolutionary relationships in karst ecosystems remain poorly documented. This study aimed to integrate field inventory and in silico phylogenetic...

Insect diversity at vegetative maize phase (Zea mays L.) in caturharjo village
This study aims to analyse the diversity and dominance of insect species in maize fields in Caturharjo Village, Sleman District, Yogyakarta. The research was conducted from March to August 2025 on 1,000 m² of maize fields divided into three plots, each measuring 10 × 15 m. Light traps were installed in the centre of each plot, and insects were captured manually (direct capture) every three days. Species diversity was calculated using the Shannon-Wiener Index, dominance using the Simpson Index, a...

Beras Basah Island, located in the coastal waters of Bontang City, East Kalimantan, is a marine conservation area characterized by diverse coastal ecosystems, including marine waters, coral reefs, and seagrass beds. These ecosystems support various aquatic organisms, including plankton communities that play a key role in marine food webs. This study aimed to examine the composition, abundance, and diversity of plankton across three different ecosystems around Beras Basah Island. Sampling was con...

Comparative Evaluation of Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning Strategies for Continual Image Classification
Catastrophic forgetting remains a major challenge in continual transfer learning, where performance on earlier tasks degrades after sequential adaptation. While full fine-tuning updates all parameters and achieves strong performance on new tasks, it is computationally expensive and prone to forgetting. This study compares parameter-efficient fine-tuning (PEFT) methods—adapters, additive learning, side-tuning, LoRA, and zero-initialized layers—against full fine-tuning on CIFAR-100 using a two-sta...

A The Impact of Tourism Regulations on Tourist Visit Performance: A Comparative Analysis of Indonesia and Singapore
Tourism regulations play a critical role in shaping destination competitiveness and influencing tourist travel decisions, yet empirical evidence on their effectiveness across different institutional contexts remains limited. This study investigates the impact of tourism regulations on tourist visit performance through a comparative quantitative analysis of Indonesia and Singapore. Using panel data covering the period 2010–2023, this research employs a fixed-effects regression model to examine th...

Exploring the Satisfaction–Revenue Nexus: A Mixed-Methods Analysis of RevPAR Performance in Southeast Asian Three-Star Hotels
This research aims to explore the satisfaction–revenue nexus by examining the effect of tourist satisfaction on Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) performance in three-star hotels across Southeast Asia. Grounded in Expectation–Confirmation Theory and the Service-Profit Chain framework, the study conceptualizes tourist satisfaction as a strategic intangible asset that contributes to financial performance through both direct and indirect mechanisms. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design w...

Financial Management Practices Driving Sustainable Community Empowerment in Somongari Tourism Village
This study examines the strategic role of financial management in empowering the community of Somongari Tourism Village, Purworejo Regency, which serves as a model of Community-Based Tourism (CBT). Despite its rich natural and cultural assets, the village faces challenges in sustaining tourism growth due to fluctuating visitor numbers, limited services differentiation, and uneven income distribution. The research aims to evaluate how transparent and participatory financial practices can strength...
