Weather monitoring is vital due to environmental changes and rising air pollution, which affects health and lifestyles. Accurate air quality prediction models are essential yet challenging due to complex weather-pollution interactions. This study employs explainable deep learning and machine learning techniques—GRU, CNN, and XGBoost—on a custom dataset of 100,000 samples with 15 features, including PM2.5, PM10, humidity, and temperature. Using SHAP for interpretability, the GRU model outperforms...

Bayesian Generalized Poisson Regression Modeling for Overdispersed Maternal Mortality Data
Advance Sustainable Science, Engineering and Technology (ASSET)
Vol 7
, No 3
(2025)
Maternal mortality is a global health issue that reflects disparities in access to and the quality of healthcare services. This study applies the Bayesian Generalized Poisson Regression (BGPR) approach to address the problem of overdispersion in the data, which renders the standard Poisson regression model less appropriate. The Generalized Poisson model was chosen for its ability to handle overdispersion, while the Bayesian approach provides more stable parameter estimates, particularly when wor...

(2025)
The growth of residential areas in peri-urban regions of metropolitan areas such as Jabodetabek demonstrates high complexity due to the dynamic interaction between population growth, land use, and environmental degradation. This study aims to develop a dynamic system-based simulation model using a scenario approach to analyze sustainable residential area management policies. The scenarios were developed consists of no intervention, pessimistic, moderate, and optimistic based on parameters such a...

Batik wastewater poses an environmental threat due to hazardous heavy metals like lead, cadmium, and chromium (Cr). This study investigated the effectiveness of SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast), a microbial consortium from kombucha production, in reducing Cr levels in batik wastewater. SCOBY is a promising biosorbent for heavy metals. The research aimed to assess SCOBY's ability to decrease Cr contamination in different types of batik wastewater (hand-drawn, stamped, and printed)...

IoT-Based Home Electricity Monitoring and Consumption Forecasting using k-NN Regression for Efficient Energy Management
Journal of Computing Theories and Applications
Vol 3
, No 1
(2025)
Electricity has emerged as an essential requirement in modern life. As demand escalates, electricity costs rise, making wastefulness a drain on financial resources. Consequently, forecasting electricity usage can enhance our management of consumption. This study presents an IoT-based monitoring and forecasting system for electricity consumption. The system comprises two NodeMCU micro-controllers, a PZEM-004T sensor for collecting real-time power data, and three relays that regulate the current f...

Assessment practices in Indonesian schools remain largely dominated by conventional summative evaluation, which inadequately represents reflective learning processes and mastery of 21st-century competencies. This gap highlights the suboptimal implementation of formative and authentic assessments in educational practice, as well as the lack of conceptual models capable of systematically integrating both approaches. This article aims to examine and develop an integrative assessment model that comb...
